The doctoral study programme is organized over a period of four years and comprises two components:
- Advanced University Studies Training Programme;
- Scientific Research Programme.
Advanced University Studies Training Programme
The Advanced University Studies Training Programme is conducted during the first year of study and is designed to provide students with the methodological, ethical, and subject-specific competencies required for doctoral research. It includes common courses, such as Academic Ethics and Integrity and Scientific Research Methodology and Statistical Data Processing, as well as courses specific to the chosen research area, organized into modules. Activities are structured according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), in accordance with the curriculum.
Scientific Research Programme
The Scientific Research Programme is conducted throughout the entire four-year doctoral programme and is coordinated by the PhD supervisor, together with the Supervisory and Academic Integrity Committee. Doctoral research is organized progressively through research papers, research reports, the preparation of scientific publications, and the gradual development of the doctoral thesis. Progress is evaluated each semester, in accordance with the curriculum and the regulations of the University of Bucharest.
Research Activities
Throughout the doctoral programme, the PhD student conducts research in collaboration with the PhD supervisor and the Supervisory and Academic Integrity Committee, participates in seminars, conferences, and other scientific events, and is encouraged to publish research findings in specialized journals and academic volumes.
Doctoral Supervision
The PhD student is supervised throughout the entire doctoral programme by the PhD supervisor and the Supervisory and Academic Integrity Committee. The doctoral activity is continuously monitored, and progress is periodically assessed in accordance with the regulations governing doctoral studies and the individual training and research plan of each PhD student.
